a side pony

I'm on a really easy hairdo thing this week. Hope you guys think it's easy enough & like it:
Start by sectioning the hair starting at the bottom & adding your elastic.
Section the next part & cross the lower piggie into it.
make it all the way to the top, ending at a side pony.
I curled the pony & added a bow.

Loose, Messy Piggies

So here's another EASY hair do today. This can be done with either short or long hair.
I started by pulling the front back in a triangle shape. Add your elastic.
Put the rest into piggies. I defused it just a little bit to give it more volume but it can be straight too.
Just bunch the hair up, as shown, and add your elastic. Leave some of the hair underneath hanging so it looks loose.
Add a bow - I added it to the first elastic instead of the 2 piggies just to change things up.
Use your fingers to spread the bun out more. Spray to hold. That's all it is. Really simple.

Pigtails, curled

I know this is really simple today but it's something everybody should be able to do. Don't mind the mess in the background. It was wash day so my sheets are in the wash.
Throw the hair up into piggies. I did a zig-zag part just to add a little more to it. These curls are SUPER easy & work for everything. This is actually how I did her hair for our family pictures. I'll have to post a picture.

Anyway - start by adding some type of polmade or curling gel after it is dry. I use Garnier Fructis curling gel or reshapable putty - they both work well. Then I clamp the hair down closer to the base of the head.
Then wrap the rest around the barrel. Hold for about 25-30 seconds. Don't worry if the hair twists while you wrap it. It looks just as cute.
These don't look as curly because I did thicker strands to make it go quicker. But I sprayed it with hairspray then ran my fingers through it. You don't have to run your fingers through - it gives it a curlier look.  It holds pretty well all day long.
Then add your bows. All of my front view pictures are pretty blury - so this is what you get!!

I'M BACK!!!

I said I wouldn't be posting as much & I looked at the last time I did - & it was 2 weeks ago. Where did the time go? I can't believe the Holidays are over & life is about to go back to normal. So I can get back to posting again.

So this did take a little bit longer - just because you have to braid all the pieces. I guess if you didn't have the time- you could just leave them straight.
Split the hair down the middle. On each half, I divided it into 4 sections & braided.
I wanted to show on each half I braided the first piece, then I split the next section into a triangle - like you see - & then parted it from the section to the ear to go as a guiding line what to divide.
Okay - so now we have all 8 braids -ready to weave away.
I started by criss-crossing the first two braids & put into 2 pigtails. Then I went to the next braid & so on until they were all added into the pony. But I did over/under with each braid so it looked like a weaving effect.
Here's what it looked like when I had all the braids pulled back.
I braided the piggies with some whispies sticking up at the top to flip back over the braids. Add your cute bows & you're finished!!

One of my cute friends from high school has a bow blog. They recently moved to London & she says that they don't love bows like we do over here. So she's up & doing her blog again. Check her blog out. It's http://kylaskreations.blogspot.com/ She sent me this today:

"I wanted to let you know that I will offer 50% off any (one-time) order that tells me they found my website through your blog."

So check it out if your looking for some darling bows & want a killer deal - especially since Christmas is so close! & don't forget to tell her you found her site through my blog to get your 50% off!

down & curly

These pictures just don't do it justice how cute this really is. My husband loves when I keep her hair down & he just kept saying how cute it was today. It's the curls - they're too cute not to try. It makes her looks so grown up:( But it also makes her hair look thicker than what it really is.

I let her hair air dry today. Then I put some curling gel from Garnier Fructis all over. I pinned the bangs back before I started to curl away.
I'm going to have to demonstrate these curls - it's the same way I curl mine & I've been doing them more often on her lately & they seem to hold a lot better than wringlet curls. I start by curling just the top layer. Then go fill in spots (i ended up curling all of her hair but on myself, I don't curl all of the underneath - it gets too thick). You hold the curling iron closer to the base of the head & wrap the hair around the curling iron & hold for 20-25 seconds. After I've gone all the way around - I brush my fingers through to make it not look "just off the curling iron look". Then I spray pretty good with hair spray to hold it. That's it. This would work on any length of hair. Try it out & let me know how it worked on your girlie.
