4 little piggies is super easy. It looks best when the part is as straight as possible.

Do a straight part all the way down, keeping the part to the side instead of middle.

Now, part the hair in half vertically & do your top two ponies.

Then, do your two lower ponies.

I did the messy buns that I showed in a previous post. But you could do anything you want here: braid the ponies & wrap them into buns, just regular buns &/or don't pull the hair all the way thru & leave it that way.

I added some cute ric-rac that I had in my scrapbooking supplies.

Braided Criss-Crossies

First, part the hair down the middle & make 2 half pony-tails. After you have put the rubberbands in, then braid it down.

Keep parting the hair down the middle. Make your next set of ponies, but criss-cross your braids into them. Take out the rubberband that was holding the braid.

Rebraid those ponies.

Part down the middle one last time & make your last set of ponies, remember to criss-cross the braids & add them to your last ponies.

I braided the end pieces & tied them up. Spray the ends so they looked curled over.

TiPs oN SofT HeADs

I know it's the fourth of July & I promised myself I wasn't going to post anything today because it's a holiday...right? Well - my kids are still sleeping so I thought it might be okay.

I've had a few moms tell me their little girly's heads are just SO sensitive, that when you take a brush to it they just cry. So I wanted to give a few tips that maybe can work for you.

**Once your little one gets more hair (no more mullets) treat it just like you treat your own. I have found that BABY shampoo/conditioner in one DOES NOT work on my little one. I use on her the shampoo & conditioner that I use on my hair. That way, when I brush through her hair, it is very EASY & not so tangled. Use a detangler if you feel necessary.

**Continuing on with the above: treat her hair like you treat yours, DO leave in conditioners. They keep the hair healthy, soft & shiny looking.

**I use this CHEAP comb that I got when she was a baby. I have used other combs, but for some reason I always resort to this one!! So find a comb that parts well, but that you can also brush her hair through with.

**When her hair is WET, brush her hair with a COMB, starting at the ENDS of the hair & making your way up to the scalp.

**I do my little girl's hair when it is wet. I notice when it is dry or if I redo it at the end of the day, she pouts more. It's easier to slide those elastics in & not pull stray hairs when it's wet.

**The last thing I would suggest is using "soft" elastic bands. If "soft" is possible. This is what I use. They stretch SO good & are EASY to get out. They are only a one time use, but who cares when they are only a couple bucks at Wal-Mart in the baby section.

Thursday - Waterfall Pony

I prefer to do this when her hair is damp, but if you bathe her the night before, I think it would be fine to do it dry. That would save you time on having to blow dry it, although just drying a pony is very quick. It's easier to smooth back all the hair into a pony when it is damp.

Pull all the hair into a pony tail. Remember the tuck-under knots from a few posts ago? You are going to do it on this, just pulling the hair through the opposite way, so the hair sits on top. Divide the pony with a comb, right in half.

Now that it is divided in half, pull the pony right through it.

This is what it should look like when it is all pulled through. After it is pulled through, pull the pony tight, so it is close to the base of the head & not loose at all. After you have done this, get a comb & smooth the hair everywhere so there are no bumps.

Blow dry the pony & curl the ends of it & there you have a cascading waterfall!!

Wednesday - still doing quick do

Right as I was about to defuse her hair, my blow dryer died. Doesn't that always happen? The curls would stay better if I defused it. This is super quick because you don't have to braid all the way down & then I just put some gel in her hair & scrunched it.

First, part the hair to be in a rectangle, as far down as you want to go. I hold the bottom with a clippie so I don't add that into the top at all.

Braid away. I actually did the opposite french braid, so the braid is on top, but you can do a normal french braid. If you do want it like i have Adde's, just braid under instead of over. It's just as simple. Then scrunch hair with gel & defuse (if your blow dryer works) or blow dry straight.

Tuesday's Quickie

I know this doesn't look like a quick do, but it really is. & it is SUPER easy. If you want it to be even faster, cut the zig-zag part & go for a straight part. I personally think a zig-zag is faster (once you've done it a few times) because it doesn't have to be perfectly straight. This took me about 5 minutes to do!!

Start by zig-zaggin' the part & add two ponies at the top.

Continue going down with the zig-zag part. (Hint: whenever I do this part, I zig-zag all the way down, pushing the hair to the side it will go on as I go. Then I just grab the left side & do a loose pony, without even brushing it yet. That way, none of the part from the left will get into the pony on the left. Then I go to the right pony & comb it smoothly into the pony. Now, go to the left side & do the same thing.) Make sure you criss-cross the two ponies on top & add them into your ponies.

You could just braid these if you wanted to. But a twist braid it much faster, if you know how to do it. Working on one pony: divide it in half. Twist each of the halves & then begin twisting them around each other, making sure you continue to also twist each piece, otherwise, when you put the rubberband in- it will just go straight. Twisting it as you go is the key. I didn't pull the hair all the way thru. Spray the ends a little so it looks like you curled it without having to.
