Knots & Twists
Part the hair down the middle & do tuck-under knots.
Grab the 2 pieces from the tuck under knots & tie them like you are going to tie a bow.
This is what it should look like. Pull the knot all the way down to the base of the head.

Puffy Braid Wrap Around
Part the hair on the natural side. In this case, I parted it on her normal left side part, but kept the part going all the way down the head.
Make your first little pony tail. Pull a small piece from it & wrap it twice around the pony tail, securing it with another elastic.

You can see the elastic, so pull some of the hair over it to cover it.
Go on to do your next pony & wrap it the same way you did the previous one.

When you get to the last one, don't pull the hair through so you have a tail hanging out.
Wrap the tail all the way around until you have no more hair (not like the previous ones where you only wrap twice & add the piece back to the pony). Spray it along the way so it will be more secure. Once wrapped all the way around, secure with an elastic.

This is such a good swimming due, it stays all day & it still looks normal when she gets out of the water.

Criss-Cross Head Band
If I wasn't lazy & in a hurry today, I would have kept her hair straight. But it went up today - which still turned out cute.
Start by parting the hair on the natural side. Then part the hair from the part, down toward the ear. Now, part the hair into squares on each side & add two elastics on each side of the part.

KnoTs & WhaT KnoT
Knots, knots & more knots.
Part the hair a little more off to the side than you normally would, because there is only one line, it looks better. Gel damp hair. It's easier to knot the hair if you start by twisting the piece you are going to knot.
Wrap the hair to tie it into a knot.
Pull the knot tight & twist the next knot, adding the previous knot into it. Tie your second knot.
After I knotted the hair twice, I pinned it so I could work with the rest of the hair & pull it into a slight side pony tail. Then I took the bobby pin out after it was all pulled back.
After the hair was into a pony, I split the hair in half but I made the halves very uneven, with one large piece & one small piece. Tie the hair into a knot, right over left & pull it tight. Now, see the smaller piece of the two ends? Wrap that around the pony tail.
I put an elastic in place to hold the wrap around, but kinda hid it with the hair.

Side Pony Twists
This makes Adde look like she has more hair than what she really does.
So start with your side pony tail.
Do twist braids all around. To do a TWIST braid: Grab the section that you want included in the twist. Split it in half & twist each half (like in picture). I twist the right piece to the right & the left piece to the left.

Braided Wrap Around Piggies
Every year, my husband's family has a tradition to do a "tea party" with all the aunts, moms, daughter, granddaughters. They do a theme & this year it was cowgirls - to celebrate grandpa who was a rancher out on the Arizona strip.
You can't go to the cowgirl tea party unless you are dressed in your best apparel. Adde & her cousins got cute little red cowboy hats to wear too - so I thought it would be cute to have little curly piggies hanging out - but I can't just do pig tails. Here's what I came up with:

Put the hair into pigtails (or a pony tail) & braid a piece from UNDERneath the pigtail.
Wrap the braid around the pig tail (I wrapped it twice & made sure the last wrap was under the pigtail - but you could just wrap it once if your braid was wide enough). Tie it off with a clear elastic. You can see the elastic here in this picture, so just pull the braid gently over the elastic so it's not showing. Unbraid up to the elastic or what is left so it is now part of the pig tail. Do it to both sides.
