Pretty funky. Oh well - gotta try something different sometimes.
Part the hair in the middle & do your little piggies. Don't pull the hair all the way through, just enough to have cute little messies. I sprayed them with hair spray a little & tugged at them so they looked more messy. I used to ALWAYS do this type of messy bun on her when she didn't have as much hair.
Next, divide the hair into 3 sections & braid. Make sure you remember to add the hair hanging down from the ponies into your braids.
Add bows to the top & that's it!! This was extremely simple

the RESULTS from yesterdays braids
I SO wished I braided all the way to the ends - but atleast the top part looks cute, right? I gave her a bath this morning without getting her hair wet at all.
When I took the braids out, I applied polmade all over so it wasn't so frizzy & didn't have that slept on look. I wanted her bangs to be out of her face - so this is what I did:
If you want to do "laces" like she has this is what I did:
Do them CLOSE together. Notice how small my chunks are. Part the hair straight down the middle & add your 2 elastics. Cross the ponies over & add your next 2 elastics.
Go as far down as you would like. I think this would have been easier if her hair was damp (not frizzy) but it still turned out okay.
I curled the ends of her hair with a curling iron...still wishing I braided further down. Oh well:)
I sprayed her hair with hair spray to keep the cute wave. This was such a time saver & I probably could have let her gone another day sleeping in the braids.

braids ALL over
I know - this isn't something I would normally do. I'm really excited for her to just sleep in it & then to have wavy hair tomorrow. But here it is anyway:
It is much easier than it looks & it's alot better if the hair is damp. Part the hair on a slant. Then I divided that part in half.
Inside-outside french braid each half. I think this braid is actually easier to do when you have smaller chunks to braid, just like this. Braid further down on the ends than I did. I don't know what I was thinking.

Knots
I'm not lovin' this. It didn't turn out as cute as I pictured in my head - but here it is anyway. The reason why I don't like it as much is because after I knotted the hair & I pulled it into another section, I didn't do it as tight as I should have. You'll see.
Do 4 parts in the front & section them off with elastics.
Knot each individual pony. I pinned them to keep them out of the way.
Section the hair further down & add the knot into it then add the elastic. This is where I was talking about. Make sure that it's pulled back tight before you add the knot on top. You can see hers is kinda loose.
Pull back into pony or bun. & that's it!!

Do 4 parts in the front & section them off with elastics.

Messy Piggy Tails
I LOVE pig tails but I wanted a little variation so I added the messy buns at the base.
Part the hair straight down the middle. Pull up into pigtails but do not pull the hair all the way through.
On each piggy, pull out a section of hair from the middle. This will be the part that stays straight.
Add an elastic around the rest to make a messy bun just like I showed last week how I do messy buns. The hardest part is keep the long piece out of the bun - so grab everything but the straight piece. Instead of doing a messy bun with elastics - you could use bobby pins instead & pin around it.
I blow dried & FLAT IRONED the long pieces. I wanted them really straight.
Add your bows & you're all done!!

Flower Bun
I have a fun little story I want to share. I was at our high school football game over the weekend & the little girlie's got to perform during half time. There were a million little girls. But I saw a cute little girl walk by that had a hairdo I had just posted a couple days prior. I saw the mom & had the nerve to ask if she saw that on a hair blog. She was such a cute mom & said yes - that she loves to look at it. I was EXTREMELY excited to see somebody in person that has been using stuff from here. It totally made my night to see that & for the mom's really nice compliment!! I love to do this blog & fun moments like that just make it all worth the time & effort!! Thanks to all those moms out here that like this site!!
On to todays hairdo. I've done something exactly like this before but I wanted to show you can do the same thing but do it on the side or change it up a bit & it can look different. When I did do it before - I pulled it straight back & added a headband. This time it's on the side with a bow.
Pull the hair into a side pony.
Grab 1/2" to 1" pieces for each loop.
Loop it around your finger (you'll have the ends sticking out that you'll grab into the next piece. It just kinda works that way).
Pin each loop at the base of the head. I criss-crossed each bobby pin so no loose pins would come out.
Go all the way around the head & add your cute bow to the side.
Don't you love the attitude. She would not look at me. But you get the idea.

side by side braids
This is an inside outside french braid with a puff braid incorporated into it. It makes the braid go super fast.
Part the hair down the middle. Add your first elastic
Do an inside-outside french braid braiding about only 4 strands down. To start: you divide the pony into 3 sections & add the pieces from the sides. Then add your elastic to stop the braid.
Go down about 1/2" to 1" & add another elastic for the puffy braid. Then continue braiding that piece about 4 strands down & repeat until you come to the end.
You can see in this picture how close I started the first elastic to her forehead. I didn't want it so spaced that I would only be able to do the braid twice.
On the last one, I ended with the puffy braid & didn't pull the hair all the way through. I sprayed the ends so they would flip over the elastic. You're finished!!
