Puffy Braid Headband

Her hair on the sides gets really thin, so to do this, take SMALL chunks to make it work, if your girlie's side are thinner too.
For me, it was easiest to start in the middle & go off of that part. Part a small square section right in the middle & add your elastic.
Add your second elastic, by parting it the same way & size.
& now the 3rd elastic - doing the EXACT thing.
Make your way, doing each section one at a time & then go to the other side doing the same. Try to make sure each of your parts line up with each other.
This is what it looks li ke when you are finished.
I blow dried, put polmade in & then flat ironed her hair.
That's it!! Cute way to do a head band & keeping all the bangs out of her face, but still able to wear it down.

Criss-Cross Do

Remember this?
Well this time you are going to do that exact same thing just underneath.
Part the hair on the side, keeping it on the side all the way down. Clip one side out of the way, so you are working only on one side.
Part the hair & pull the rest into a clippie so it stays out of the way. Then part that section into halves & add your elastics.
Do your next row the same way, but before you add your elastics - criss cross each side.
Do the same to the other side & put each side into a pony tail.
I put her hair in pink curlers. I had a picture but forgot to add it. But I put them in when her hair is damp, almost dry. I keep them in for about an hour & then I put the blow dryer to the curlers to make sure the hair is completely dry.
Take the curlers out & spray the curls.
Her hair is so long so I pinned up the curls so you could see the underneath part.
Add your cute bows & you're finished!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the really nice comments & emails that you leave me. I try to answer most of them back if you have a question - but if I haven't - I want to apologize. I love that people actually use this. I thought I would be doing it more for my own family & friends so it's really fun to see everyone checking it out. It's so fun to see everyone's comments, questions & their own imput. Please - keep it coming.

I wanted to post a couple pictures that some people have sent me. Keep sending them - I love to see what you guys come up with or if you try any of these hairstyles on your little girlie. And if you come up with something different - send it to me so I can post it, with step by step instructions (if you'd like). Everyone always is looking for new things, even me. So keep sending them.
This is sent from the mom of Oh Sew Girlie. If you guys have not checked out her bows - click on the link to the right. They are DARLING!! Especially the Over the Top bows. Love them!! Here's what Ginger came up with for her darling little girl. So cute!!

Something quick & simple today...

So I wanted to do something with not much effort today. This is a really good one for church - especially me who is getting all of us ready by 9am
Start by parting the hair & putting the elastic in.
Braid the pony tail all the way down.
Pull the braid half way up & secure it with an elastic.
I blow dried her hair then add polmade all over. Then spray the hair everywhere so the curls will stay. This is the best & quickest way to do curls without taking forever!
Start on one side of the head & work your way around. Take CHUNKY pieces & curl them.
But don't take the curling iron all the way up, just half way or barely half way. Once you have gone all the way around the hair, Run your fingers through the curls & then hair spray all over so the curls will stay.
Simple as that!! Add a cute bow & you are finished.

french twist on a side

I wish I had enough patience to redo her hair - I think it's a little too loose. So as you are doing this, make sure you twist it tighter & closer to the head.
Start by parting the hair a little more off to the side than you normall would. Than go straight from the part towards the ear. Clip the rest of the hair back.
Brush the hair forward & start doing the french twist at an ANGLE
Once you get to the part where there is no more hair to grab, start twisting each end like you are doing a twist braid & make your way down as far as you want to go.

Round brush the hair & keep it down.

4 French Braids

If you haven't learned how to french braid - you must!! You can do SO much with french braiding. I was a little unsure if I would be able to do the upside down french braids today, because I've had her lay down & braid before & she did not like that. So I tried it a different way & I think it turned out darling!!

We are going to part the hair into quarters. It's easiest if you start by parting the hair straight down the middle. Clip the one half off to the side. Now divide the other half right down the middle horizontally & clip the bottom part so now you are just working with the top.
French braid the top part & put your elastic in. Then I went to the left top & french braided that also (dividing the hair in half just like the other half)
Now french braid the underneath part.
Almost done with braiding - the last little section. The way that I did the upside down french braids were instead of having her flip her hair over & lay over the bed (easiest but most uncooperative:) I parted where I started the braid & flipped the rest of the hair up, just like the picture. I got over on top of her & went to town. Some of the top pieces will fall down but as long as you have your grip on your 3 braiding pieces, you should be fine. It was a lot easier than what I thought!!
Now, you have your four braids. I put them into pigtails next. But I criss-crossed the top, to pull the sides tighter (you know how you get that loose look sometimes - I didn't want that). But I DID NOT criss-cross the bottoms. I criss-crossed the top & just pulled the bottom braids right up. Do the pigtails as close as possible, almost looking like one pony tail.
I did the messy bun, because her hair is so long. If it wasn't, I probably wouldn't do messy buns so often.
Spray the hair to hold & you are finished!!
